ADULT CLASSES

General Structure of a Training Class

Each training class is planned in advance. While the overall structure remains the same, small adjustments may be made depending on the participants and their experience levels.

Every class begins with a short opening ceremony. This moment allows us to leave the distractions of everyday life behind, prepare ourselves mentally for training, and develop focus.

It begins with a warm-up, followed by basic techniques, where punches, kicks, and defensive techniques are practiced individually and in combinations to improve precision and body mechanics. Building on this foundation, partner exercises develop distance awareness, reaction, and timing. The focus is on the controlled practice of attack and defense. The session often concludes with Kata practice – predefined movement sequences that combine traditional techniques in a fixed order and train both body and mind.

The training ends with a closing ceremony. It provides a moment to calm both body and mind, reflect on the practice, and make a smooth transition back into everyday life.

Kobudō

In Kobudō, we learn techniques through basic movements and Kata using traditional Okinawan Kobudō weapons such as Bō, Sai, Tonfa, Nunchaku, and Nichō-Gama (Kama). Kobudō training is introduced step by step. With the exception of the Bō, training with the equipment Sai, Tonfa, Nunchaku, and Nichō-Gama may only begin from the 2nd Kyu (brown belt) onwards. These training weapons are generally introduced during advanced training or in dedicated Kobudō sessions. The Bō can be integrated into training earlier.
